One of the first questions anyone will have before attending an MLS match is how much do tickets cost?
The answer will usually depend on a number of factors, such as where in the stadium you want to sit, which team it is, who the opposition is, etc. However, for a general ballpark figure, you can get tickets for around $45-$50 at the cheaper end.
These aren’t ‘bad’ seats, either. They just won’t be in premium sections of the stands. If you want the very best locations you can spend over $100 at most MLS clubs.
Availability is a big factor too. Some well supported clubs in soccer specific stadiums regularly reach capacity or close to it. Others still play in huge stadia shared with NFL teams, so even if they have a large following by soccer standards, there will be plenty of seats available at kick off.
As of 2026, Major League Soccer has 30 teams each playing 17 home matches during the regular season. Here is what you can expect to pay for a ticket at each club.
MLS Ticket Prices By Club
It’s impossible to give an exact price range for each club because they are always changing from game to game. There are also promotions, group discounts, hospitality options, and more to consider.
That said, the following prices represent the lowest and highest priced single match tickets on average, when bought directly from the club in question.

How To Find Cheaper Tickets
It is possible to get tickets for MLS games more cheaply, but the way in which you go about it will depend on you.
For example, you could simply choose a game with lower interest. Often, U.S. Open Cup games or fixtures against lower level opposition will attract smaller crowds, so prices for these games are often lower. Especially if they also fall midweek.
For bigger games, choosing the cheapest section of the stadium is your best option if you want to buy directly from the club, or you could look into multi-match offers which many clubs offer.
The other option is to enter the re-sale market. Ticketmaster and SeatGeek are the most common platform to use, and it’s not unheard of to find tickets for MLS matches for as little as $15. The price varies widely depending on the game, the seats themselves, and how low the seller is willing to go, but there are definitely bargains to be found.
Ticket Availability
The range in stadium sizes and the difference in popularity between one team to another make MLS ticket availability an interesting beast.
Clubs like Austin FC, FC Cincinnati, Columbus Crew, Inter Miami, Minnesota United and St. Louis CITY SC often draw crowds close to their stadium capacity, so tickets can be harder to find. A large portion of the available seats are taken by season ticket holders at clubs like these, which adds to the difficulty with availability.
Booking in advance is best in these cases.
At the other end of the scale, you have the likes of Atlanta United, Charlotte FC, Chicago Fire, New England Revolution and Seattle Sounders. These clubs play at large NFL stadiums, so have much more flexibility. They can accommodate much larger crowds than clubs using soccer specific stadiums, but that doesn’t mean they always do. In fact, these clubs often keep certain sections of the stadium closed due to expected demand not being the same as for NFL games.
Nevertheless, it is usually much easier to get tickets for these games.
Availability also depends on the game in question, of course. Rivalry matches, home openers, and big games late in the season will be harder to find tickets for.
Where To Sit

Since the location of your seat is one of the biggest factors impacting the price of MLS tickets, it makes sense to understand what you are getting if you pay extra for a ‘better’ seat.
Although all seats in most stadiums give you uninterrupted views of the action, some genuinely are better than others.
This is largely down to the distance from the pitch, and the angle you are watching from. It’s much easier to follow the game from seats along the sidelines than from behind either goal, for example. And the closer you are to the pitch, the more detail you can see, such as the players’ skills and technical work. It’s also pretty cool to be close enough to see their facial expressions clearly.
It’s about atmosphere too, though. Supporters sections are usually the most affordable and the most atmospheric. They tend to be behind one of the goals. You will definitely have a good time in these areas, but you will probably have to stand up a lot, and you should expect a lot of singing, flags, and your view being obstructed by people waving signs and the like. Families or first time visitors might prefer a seat elsewhere.
There may also be ‘premium seating’ which usually means more space, cushioned seats, good access, etc.
So you do tend to get what you pay for, but sometimes, what you want might not be the best seat, but the best atmosphere.
Standard Tickets vs Resale Tickets
I mentioned resale tickets earlier, when talking about how to get cheaper MLS tickets.
The difference is easy to understand:
- Standard ticket – Sold directly by the club or their authorised ticketing partner.
- Resale ticket – A ticket that has already been bought and is now put up for sale by the owner. Usually on an online platform like Ticketmaster or SeatGeek.
To make things confusing, resale tickets can sometimes be sold on the same platform the club partners with to sell standard tickets.
The price for standard tickets is set by the club or their ticketing partner, but the price of resale tickets can vary a lot. In both directions.
For example, you can get a good deal if someone is trying to sell a ticket they bought to a game that is not in high demand and is only a day away. On the other hand, for an important game with no availability, resale tickets can be significantly more expensive.
Consider Additional Costs
To sum up then, you should be able to get a standard ticket to most MLS games for around $50 – but that’s not your only cost.
There may be additional fees in the way of local taxes or ticket delivery charges, you might have to pay for parking, you might want something to eat or drink, or to buy some merchandise.
A total budget of $100 is a more realistic baseline.
Of course, you can always spend more for better seats, or even splurge on hospitality options if you have that sort of expendable income. Maybe you are flying in and staying over for a couple of nights. This will all obviously cost you more.
You can find ways to bring the costs down if you aren’t too fussy about where you sit or which game you go to, but in general, tickets for an MLS match are reasonably affordable for most people.
